A tax increase is on the June 7th Ballot in St. Joseph.

The 3% increase to the hotel-motel tax brings the tax total to 6%. The tax is paid by those who rent overnight guest rooms, but does not apply to meeting rooms or reception and dining facilities. Co-chairman of the hotel-motel tax, John Courley says much of the tax he says that money would help fund specific projects in St. Joseph.

Courley adds the money will also help in adding to the River Walk, and creating a river front RV Park.
