A Maryville physician has been called to help out with efforts in Joplin and then told to wait until further notice.

Dr. Chris Sporleder is the head of the Emergency Department at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville and a family practitioner. He was called up yesterday by a Physician's Association and asked to help in Joplin. But his wife Deanna says conditions are still so devastated in the region he's now been told to remain on standby and wait for further instructions.

Meanwhile the Sporeleder's are collecting relief supplies for Joplin residents at their home in Maryville. That's at 415 West 2nd.
