In a time of economic downturn, northwest Missouri is still looking to prosper.
The MIssouri linked deposit program is awarding low interest loans to small businesses and farmers to help them to expand on new opportunities. The 38.4 million dollars issued to northwest Missouri borrowers has impacted 356 jobs and 309 farmers. Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel says his goal is to make sure that everybody has access to the program. Since 2009 626 million dollars in loans have been approved statewide impacting nearly 8,000 jobs and over 2,000 farmers.
