MARYVILLE, MO (2010-05-28) Two highway construction projects in North Missouri make it on the state's "Top 10 Work zones" list.
Mo-Dot has put out the list as an alert for drivers... spotlighting the most heavily traveled work zones in the next few months.
Coming in at number 9 is in Andrew County... where crews will be replacing two bridge decks at the intersection of Highway 59/Business 71 with Interstate 29.
MoDot will be closing one bridge at a time and move traffic head to head on the other bridge via crossovers.
This will impact about 10 thousand drivers a day as work will continue through this December.
At number 10 on the work zone list is the resurfacing of Highway 65 from Chillicothe to the Iowa state line.
The 57-mile stretch starting at Highway 36 in Chillicothe will see shoulder improvements, and the addition of rumble strips in the center line and edge line on Highway 65.
That will go down to one lane, effecting more than 10 thousand vehicles a day.
That project is expected to be finished this fall.
