MARYVILLE, MO (2010-05-14) Maryville now boasts one of the most highly trained staffs for small animal shelters in the state of Missouri.
Shelter worker Candice Smith has received the Missouri Animal Control Association's certification.
This makes 3 staffers or board members at the New Nodaway Humane Society's shelter who have passed the state's rigorous animal control certification.
Smith is a Farifax native and joined the shelter in January of last year.
Her main duty is taking care of the facility's 80 cats.
All three shelter members are now designated as animal control/humane officers with the state certification.
