MARYVILLE, MO (2010-05-10) The Nodaway County Commission hopes to award bids on courthouse remodeling as it meets today.
The work includes repairs of window sills and the soft sandstone pillars and cornices on the historic courthouse.
The Nodaway County Commission also continues mulling over future options to fix the decaying roof and tower atop the building.
Presiding Commissioner Joe Baumli (bomb-lee) says the plan they favor is to actually have it duplicated instead of re-building it.
Baumli says if they choose it, the tower replication could take a couple of months, but he's hopeful all courthouse repairs could be during this construction season and finished by the end of the year.
