Prison Death Charges

Cameron, MO (2010-05-03) An inmate inside Cameron's Western Missouri Corrections Center is charged with murdering another inmate.

Authorities say Donald Belford is charged with murder in the second degree.

If convicted he could be sentenced to a life term.

Belford was a fellow inmate with 27 year old Pascual Herrera... who was found beaten to death at the prision.

Herrera was serving a 6 year sentence for motor tampering and a weapons and drug conviction.

Before his latest charge.... Belford was serving time for assault, armed criminal action, and drug trafficking in the St. Louis area.

Authorities say this is the first murder at the Cameron prison, which has been open for 21 years.
