MARYVILLE, MO (2009-05-19) The longtime General Motors dealership in Maryville says it's not closing, but it's not sure of its future relationship with GM either.
Boyles Motors owner David Boyles declined an audio interview but tells us a letter he received on Friday opens more questions than it answers.
He says General Motors is telling Boyles- quote- "generally speaking, we would not expect our contractual relationship to continue" past next October.
Boyles is sending GM information to appeal the company's vague letter.
However, Boyles says his dealership is very strong financially, having 2 times the required minimum amount to invest in a dealership.
Boyles admits sales have declined, but is still profitable.
He says the Maryville dealership will be investigating whether to continue with General Motors, looking for an alternative franchise, or become a used car dealer with a continued service center.
He expects a more specific answer from General Motors sometime after June first.
