Gallatin, MO (2010-05-03) The trial has been set for the former owner of the Gallatin Grain Company accused of taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from customers.
However, this trial has nothing to do with those claims but environmental concerns instead.
Daniel Froman's case is set to start on July 14th in Daviess County Circuit Court.
Froman has been under investigation by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the state's Clean Water Commission.
It's alleged run-off from the Gallatin Livestock Auction's sale barn polluted a nearby pond.
Froman would have to pay more than 8 hundred thousand dollars in damages if convicted.
He also faces charges stemming from the now closed Gallatin Grain Company that he stole 3 million dollars worth of grain from customers.
More than 1 hundred claims have been filed against Froman in that case.
