Carrolton, MO (2009-05-18) Community officials in Carrolton have come together to increase safety in their schools.
Their security task force has worked throughout the school year and their teamwork could have a big pay off.
They applied for a federal grant that could bring 100 thousand dollars to Carrolton schools.
School district officials teamed with lawmakers, the fire chief, the district safety coordinator and others to research the safety of schools in their district.
Judith Delaney is the Superintendent of Carrolton schools.
She says the community is excited about the grant that would be used for all buildings in the district.
The district will have to match the 100 thousand dollar grant with 50 thousand dollars.
Delaney says Carrolton should know the decision by the end of June.
