Aspiring entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to pitch their ideas to successful business owners.

April 17th marks the second annual New Venture Pitch Competition at Northwest Missouri State University. Experienced business people from the community will hear a pitch, ask questions, and ultimately decide which idea they like most. Winners will receive prizes to help start their new business. Northwest Assistant Professor Ben Blackford says starting a business requires more than a good idea.

Blackford adds the event also includes a series of informative seminars for small business owners. The New Venture Pitch Competition takes place at Northwest Missouri State on Wednesday April 17. To register for the competition or seminars visit www.nwmissouri.edu/business/NVPC.
