Midwest forecasters are expecting another dry summer this year.
The region could receive the rain it needs due to El Nino, but it likely won't be until the end of the summer months. While the area has received a significant amount of snow recently, the ground is usually only able to absorb an inch of rain per every foot of snow. University of Missouri agronomist, Wayne Flannery says it's important for farmers to take note of that weather and the forecast and plan accordingly.
Flannery says forecasters have noticed a dry May, is typically followed by a dry summer. He says another dry year will be especially hard on livestock producers who are struggling with high feed costs.© Copyright, KXCV
