The Missouri Department of Conservation is advising homeowners to be as safe as possible when taking care of trees damaged by the recent storms.

Urban Forester in the Kansas City Region, Chuck Conner, says it's important to seek the help of cleanup specialists.

Conner adds patience is key, whether or not you're hiring professionals for the job.

Conner adds trees that have lost over half of their branches or have a severely damaged trunk are considered dead and need to be replaced.
