What Missouri House representative Delus Johnson calls "an outdated policy" could soon go away.

Daylight Saving Time was created over 100 years ago to save coal in World War One. Before that, Benjamin Franklin thought of the idea to save candle wax in Paris. According to Johnson doing away with Daylight Saving Time would have a positive economic impact.

Missouri isn't the first state to consider having one standard time year round. What is different in Johnson's bill is a pact requirement stating that 20 states agree to remove Daylight Saving Time. That number can be increased to 30 if no states bordering Missouri change their time schedule.Johnson's bill now moves to the House Rules Committee for approval before moving to the floor for discussion. Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday morning at 2:00. Set your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed Saturday night.
