St. Joseph Detour

Drivers traveling to and from St. Joseph on Highway 59 will have to take a new route starting Monday.

Bridge work is set to begin on the Cloverdale and Gay Branch bridges between St. Joseph and Rushville as part of the Safe and Sound Bridge upgrades. Missouri Department of Transportation St. Joseph spokeswoman Holley Hailey explains the detour route.

Again, work on Highway 59 between St. Joseph and Rushville starts Monday, weather permitting. The bridge work is expected to take 6 to 8 weeks to complete.
