The new student regent at Northwest Missouri State University says he's eager to start his new term.
Ashton Rafferty was appointed by governor Nixon to serve as a non-voting member on the university's board. Raffety says his goal is to bring the voice of the student body to the board of regents in a clear way. He plans include helping to make sure budget cuts don't impact the university's culture.
