The city of Maryville is looking to add new trails in the community.

The Maryville trails project will add 4 new trails in the city with partial funding by the Missouri Department of Transportation through its transportation enhancement funding. All of the trails have a reasonable progress policy, meaning that the project must be continued in order to keep the funding. City manager Greg McDanel says the MoDOT grant is imperative.

The newest trail will be between the hospital and the middle school. The 7th and 9th Street trails will begin construction this year. The other two trails will begin next fiscal year.
