Housing Assistance

Wayman

MARYVILLE, MO (2012-03-26)

The recession like economy is putting services in our region under more strain.

One of those is the federal housing choice voucher program administered by the Green Hills Community Action Agency. That's the program that helps with housing assistance, but lets the individuals or families pick their own housing, rather than live in government-owned apartments or houses. Debbie Dinsmore is the housing assistance director at Green Hills in Trenton. She says in the 9 county north-central Missouri area, well more than 400 people are using the program now, with a waiting list of about 70 more.

Dinsmore adds her office is still encouraging those needing housing assistance to apply. You can do that by contacting the Green Hills Community Action Agency in Trenton.
