Highway 169 Closure

Gentry county motorists may have to use an alternate route starting next week.

The U.S. Highway 169 Bridge at Old Channel Island Creek is scheduled to close next Tuesday. A signed detour will direct motorists through Route E and Route H. Missouri Department of Transportation customer relations specialist Holly Hailey says the bridge on 169 was one of 800 to be improved or replaced through the "Safe and Sound" program.

Hailey says the bridge south of Stanberry is expected to be closed for 2 weeks.
