Food Stamp Challenge

Wayman

ST. JOSEPH, MO (2012-03-06)

This is the first full seek of the food stamp challenge in St. Joseph.

The director of Second Harvest Community Food Bank David Davenport has taken it upon himself to live on $28 worth of food stamps- each week. That's the amount some eligible recipients receive. Davenport says it's designed to show the community the challenges of surviving on the food stamp program. This is the second Davenport has conducted the experience, but he says this year he has other in the community doing the challenge with him.

Weekly results will also be posted on Facebook and Twitter. Second Harvest's food stamp challenge will last through the end of March.
