Drug Testing in Maryville School District

Roach

MARYVILLE, MO (2012-03-27)

The Maryville School District will be hosting an informational drug testing policy community meeting on April 4th.

The goal of the meeting is to discuss and share the "Draft" policy that is being developed by administrators. Steve Klotz, assistant superintendent, says this is a policy that will be put in place for random student drug testing for those students who participate MSSHA sanctioned activities and those who request to park on campus. Klotz also says the board wants to give students the opportunity to say no.

The estimated budget cost for this policy could range anywhere from $3,000 to $7,500 depending on how many kids and how often they test. If board approves the policy, random drug testing will be implemented for the 2012-2013 school year.
