ROCK PORT, MO (2011-03-9)
The Rock Port Board of Aldermen face a hefty bill to get the city's pool in shape for the Summer season.
The Park Board told members at the recent Aldermen meeting the Rock Port pool's filter needs to be replaced. That will cost nearly $51,000. Officials also want to upgrade a concrete slab and fencing at the facility. No action was taken on the item, but the board did put in place a new "No Parking" ordinance for Rock Port Streets during snow emergencies. Citizens can now by fined $25 per offense for parking on city Streets during a snow or ice emergency, which will be prohibited until enough has been cleared to allow for emergency vehicles to pass. Plans are also in the works to re-paint the "no Parking" lines on Main Street to clarify those zones.
