NODAWAY COUNTY, MO (2011-03-18)
If the weather holds drivers in Nodaway and Worth counties will see some long-term road closures starting Saturday.
It's part of the state's "Safe and Sound" bridge program, which is replacing or upgrading dozens of structures across north Missouri. On Monday crews are set to start working on the bridge over the Nodaway River overflow which is on Highway 113 about a mile south of Skidmore. That section of 113 should be closed down for the next 6 to 8 weeks. In Worth county crews are closing Route "W" about 3 miles west of the town of Worth on Monday. They will be working on the bridge over bear creek also causing "W" to close for about 6 to 8 weeks. A complete schedule and maps of this year's bridge replacements are available on the MoDOT website and by clicking on the "Northwest" section.
