MARYVILLE, MO (2011-03-29)
A prediction from a Maryville Feed and Seed Company manager says the push toward ethanol may not be a large cash boon for corn producers.
Harold Spire is the general manager at Consumer Oils Company and ads the recent spike in ethanol prices should not increase the market price for corn. Spring corn planting season starts mid-April. Spire predicts upcoming Fall yields could reach 150 bushels per acre for corn. He says beans are also expected to maintain last year's production.
