548th Deployment

More of our region's citizen soldiers are being called up to Afghanistan.

About 170 national guardsman from the Trenton based 548th transportation company have left for Camp Clark in Nevada Missouri. There they will spend about 5 weeks preparing for the overseas deployment. The men and women will then be part of a deployment ceremony in mid-April back in Trenton, before heading to Fort Bliss Texas, their final stop before leaving the country. Soldiers with the 548th are expected to be in Afghanistan for about a year.
