Northwest Missouri Agriculture Loans

Wayman

NORTHWEST MISSOURI (2010-3-9) Missouri's State treasurer says a government program has saved Northwest Missouri farm investors about $152,000 each year in interest.

Clint Zweifel was in St. Joseph yesterday talking about the Missouri linked deposit program. He says 126 loans have been made in Northwest Missouri through that program, totaling about $10 million in agriculture-related loans. Last year alone 7 farmers in Buchanan County took out $665,000 through Missouri's linked deposit program. Since its inception there have been 11 loans from Nodaway County, 32 loans in Livingston, 12 in Harrison, and 12 loans in Daviess.
