ST. JOSEPH, MO. (2010-3-3) St. Joseph officials have learned a Los Angeles film director is coming in for a documentary on the famous Pony Express.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the St. Joseph based service. LA director C-J Longhammer will be recording the festivities St. Joseph will have as part of the anniversary celebration. Longhammer plans a feature-length documentary called "1861: Spirit of the Pony Express", which will include a cross-country re-creation. A Christmas time release this year is planned for the film. The Pony Express Museum in St. Joseph is holding an event to rally support for the film. That will be on March 20th.
