NORTHWEST MISSOURI (2010-3-5) The TRI-C communities in Northwest Missouri are exploring a Kansas-based service aimed at strengthening local pride.
Conception, Clyde, and Conception Junction are investigating the "Public Square" program. It emphasizes business, education, government, and human service resources in a community to pull together like strengths. Carolyn Holtman is a local organizer near Conception Junction and says even looking into the program could shed light on the future. A fund raiser was recently held to start talking with public square organizers, but Holtman stresses it's just an option at this point and hopes residents decide on which direction they want to go to help the TRI-C communities.
