BROWNVILLE, NE. (2010-3-2) Work on the Brownville bridge on highway 136 continues.
The structure connects Rockport Missouri to Brownville Nebraska and is a major route between the two States. Now that the weather is clearing, construction crews tell us the concrete forms on the East span of the bridge are being finished and the concrete deck is expected to be pouted either this month or next. If the work stays on schedule, the North side construction will be finished this July and traffic will switch to the South side shortly after. Construction on the Brownville bridge was held up this winter because of the harsh weather we've had the last few months.
