MARYVILLE, MO (2009-03-16) He had to flee his country to avoid genocide, and tonight, refugee John Dau speaks in Maryville.
Dau is one of the so-called "Lost Boys of the Sudan" - 20 thousand boys who had to leave his family in the North-African country to avoid the civil war there.
Dau says he's lecturing tonight in Maryville to make sure Americans understand the ongoing conflict, as well as provide an inspirational message.
Dau's lecture starts at 8 tonight in the Mary Linn Auditorium.
