MARYVILLE, MO (2009-03-02) Severe weather season is right around the corner, and Maryville area citizens have a chance to understand the risks to become safer.
The National Weather Service holds a storm spotter class tonight.
A meteorologist from the weather service is in Maryville to train how you can identify storms to recognize just how severe they are.
Christy Forney is the Nodaway County Emergency Manager and says it's a chance for the public to get the same training as local professionals.
Again- the class will be in the Student Union ballroom on campus in Maryville.
It starts at 7 tonight.
