MARYVILLE, MO (2009-03-03) The down economy has upped the popularity of gardening.
Jesse white is the manager of a garden and seed store in St. Joseph and says this is the best pre-season sale of garden seeds he's seen in years.
White predicts they'll run out of some seed types in the next few weeks, and directly points to the recession as the reason people are turning to growing their own food.
White says the top crops going quick right now are tomatoes and peppers- but also beans and peas.
