Maryville has a new city councilwoman.

Local business owner Renee Riedel took the oath of office Friday evening. Reidel co-owns a sports grill in Maryville, and says she wants to give back to the community for it's support of the family business.

Riedel was appointed by the mayor to fill the un-expired term of former mayor and councilman Chad Jackson, who is moving out of state for another job. She'll  be serving in the role until the seat is up for election in the spring of next year.
