ST. JOSEPH, MO (2012-06-06)
The Remington Nature Center located in St. Joseph Missouri will be host to two mock archeological digs for children in July.
The digs are meant to educate children about what real archeologist's do on site and will allow children to find and take home authentic native American artifacts. Remington Nature Center Manager Andrea George says the Center specializes on anything nature or history.
The two archeological digs will be Saturday July 14 and Saturday July 28. The digs will start at 10 am with a brief class explaining the dig. Participants need to wear old clothing, bring sunscreen, bottled water and mosquito repellent. Registration and payment is required in advance. The dig is best suited for children ages 7-12.
