Military Food Help

Wayman

ST. JOSEPH, MO (2012-06-08)

A change at our region's food bank means more access for regional military families needing assistance.

Second Harvest Community Food Bank is enacting a new policy to allow all current or previous service members of all branches and their families to forego the qualification process to get food and supplies from Second Harvest in St. Joseph and its partnering food pantries. This will help the Air National Guard members, the Guard Members in St. Joseph, as well as heroes and their families serving throughout Second Harvest's 19 county area. Second Harvest's Tamara Grubb says hunger doesn't distinguish between civilian and military.

Military families now simply need to show a current military ID or VA card or DD Two Fourteen form to use Second Harvest's services.
