Livestock Heat

With parts of Missouri seeing 100 plus degree weather, the risk of heat exhaustion could affect livestock and animals as well.

University of Missouri Extension Livestock Specialist, James Humphrey says there are several steps that can be taken, especially ensuring the animals have sufficient water and shade.

Humphrey also recommends moving all animal and livestock-related tasks to the early morning or the evening when it is cooler, or to postpone them until the weather cools down.
