The Trenton Gooseberry Festival kicks off this weekend with a number of activities including a tractor pull, basketball tournament, antique show, concert and ranch rodeo.

The Grand River Valley Choir will present its summer concert, "How Can I keep From Singing" at the First Baptist Church Friday night, and Saturday morning there is a 5K/10K run-walk at Eastside Park. Registration begins at the shelter house at 7 in the morning with the event beginning at 7:30. All proceeds will go to the Trenton Parks Department. Events in the area begin Friday night and continue until Sunday afternoon.
