NODAWAY COUNTY, MO (2012-06-04)
The Nodaway County Historical Society is preparing for their monthly Dessert Day at the museum.
Each month, a specific ingredient to be featured in the desserts is chosen, and this month is strawberries. A dessert is not required from those attending the event, but those who would like to bring one should have their dessert and recipe to the museum by 1:30 pm. Also attending Dessert Day is cake decorator Betty Nelson, who will demonstrate tips and tricks to decorating a cake. Archivist Margaret Kelley says the hope of Dessert Day is to bring people in to the museum. The event is this Saturday from 1 to 4 pm.
Also coming up this summer is a Garden Program on Sunday as well as an old Arts and Skills Program on June 16th, where attendees can participate in hands on activities, such as caning chairs. Also, at the annual meeting in August, Garvin Williams will be honored as this year's Stairway of Stars winner. For more information on these events, contact the Nodaway County Historical Society Museum at 660-582-8176.
