CLARINDA, IA (2012-06-18)
The Clarinda City Council has appointed several citizens to boards and had the first reading for a no parking zone on a new street.
Carl Sonken was appointed and Steve Petty was reappointed to the Planning and Zoning Board for five year terms. Evelyn Rank and Bob Briggs were reappointed to the Library Board for six year terms. Becky Brownlee was reappointed to the Tree Board for a three year term. Adam Randolph, Zachary Matney, and Josh McElroy were appointed to the Clarinda Volunteer Fire Department. Also at the meeting was the first reading of an ordinance that would add no parking signs to a street by the new hospital. Clarinda city manager Gary McClarnon says the measure is to ensure everyone's safety.
The measure's first reading was passed unanimously and has two more steps of approval before it can go into effect.© Copyright, KXCV
