ST. JOSEPH, MO (2011-06-17)
Nearly 1,800 hundred residents of St. Joseph could be in trouble if a levee there fails in the next few weeks.
That's why the city is issuing evacuation routes and making plans for the city's south side. City spokeswoman Mary Robertson says police are putting together a plan to alert residents if the L-455 Levee fails. In the meantime, Robertson says residents need to take action.
Yesterday morning the Missouri River at St. Joseph was at 22 and a half feet. Voluntary evacuations will begin at 25 feet.© Copyright, KXCV
