The Livingston County Sheriff is warning of a telemarketing scam.

Steve Cox says a local business owner was called to contribute to the "Shop with a Deputy" program at Christmas time. The problem is the Livingston County Sheriff's Department participates in a "Shop With a Cop" program not "Deputy". The sheriff says he's contacted the Deputy Sheriff's Association to warn them about the scam.
