Missouri's governor says using Army National Guard troops and communicating with local citizens are two ways the state is trying to protect northwest Missourians from flooding along the Missouri River.
Governor Jay Nixon was in St. Joseph yesterday afternoon coordinating with local agencies on flood preparations. He says it's guaranteed the floods in the Missouri River basin are on the way. The governor says the time to prepare is now.
The Army Corps of Engineers has a series of releases scheduled over the next week pushing water into the Missouri River nearly twice as high as is normal.© Copyright, KXCV
