Missouri Western State University's state appropriation is being cut yet again.
Governor Jay Nixon announced Western's 8.2% cut, which is the largest in the state. Western already receives the lowest appropriation in the state per full-time student said president of the university Dr. Robert Vartabedian. He says he is shocked and disappointed with governor's decision of this year's cut on top of last years, 5.2% cut.
Vartabedian adds those un-funded mandatories are utilities and other expenses Missouri Western has to pay. Each year the school pays about a million dollars in those unfunded mandatories.© Copyright, KXCV
