Guest House Groundbreaking

CONCEPTION JUNCTION, MO (2011-06-21)

The monks at Conception Abbey in northwest Missouri break ground on a new guest house for visitors.

The 20,000 plus square foot complex will have 32 rooms to house guests of retreats and other visitors to the monastery. Conception Abbey Abbott Gregory Polan says the community hosts 7 to 8,000 guests each year.

The new guest house will replace two dorm-style buildings built in the 1960's guests have stayed in. It's expected to be finished in about a year.
