The Chillicothe Fire Department was the main topic for the city council meeting which met earlier this week.

Chillcothe and the rural fire department have had an existing contract for many years. With in agreement the city houses and mans the fire department's equipment, however this contract was up on Thursday. City of Chillicothe mayor Chuck Haney says also on the agenda was an ordinance dealing with cost recovery for the fire department's activities dealing with hazardous materials.

Haney adds both of these ordinances were approved and signed in last nights meeting.
