Jefferson City, MO (2010-06-07) A new law taking effect in Missouri will benefit the state's active service members.
Governor Jay Nixon has signed the measure, which makes it easier for members overseas or out of state to vote in elections.
The Governor says it helps ensure their voice is heard.
The law also outlines set preferences for service-disabled veterans bidding on government contracts.
Another recent law in Missouri increases funding for the Veterans Commission Capital Improvement Trust Fund... which helps fund veteran's cemeteries, vets homes, and other services.
