Thomson on Session

Wayman

MARYVILLE, MO (2010-06-29) Northwest Missouri's Representative is in Jefferson City today as lawmakers actively start the special legislative session.

Giving financial assistance to the Ford plant near Kansas City and reforming the state pension plan are the two issues lawmakers will be working on- including Representative Mike Thomson of Maryville.

He says keeping the Kansas City plant open is truly a state-wide issue.

Thomson says he has serious questions with the proposal to create a pension board to oversee state retirement funds.

He adds he hopes this week's special session will be short... as it costs about 125 thousand dollars a week to call lawmakers back into session.
