Des Monies, Ia. (2010-06-23) Approximately 250-thousand older Iowans could be getting a 250 dollar check in the mail because of a doughnut hole in Medicare Part "D".
The rebate checks are part of the new health care legislation passed this year by Congress.
The first checks were sent on July tenth.
AARP spokesperson Ann Black says senior citizens should beware of scam artists who could take advantage of this system.
Black says the checks are mailed automatically to the address used by Social Security. If you don't get a check and believe you should...contact Medicare directly.
