MARYVILLE, MO (2010-06-09) A Maryville man was convicted by a Nodaway County jury of two drug offenses.
John M. Meyer, 22, was charged with a Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance in the alleged form of 35 grams of marijuana.
Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney David Baird also charged Meyer with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
After a deliberation of approximately ninety minutes, the jury returned their verdicts, finding Meyer guilty on both charges.
Meyer faces maximum sentences of seven years in prison and a five thousand dollar fine on the felony charge and one year in county jail and a one thousand dollar fine on the misdemeanor charge.
