Kids Health Costs

Wayman

Fairfax, MO (2010-06-07) Thousands of dollars are waiting to be spent on North Missouri children for healthcare costs... but people aren't taking advantage of it.

That's the message from the United Healthcare Children's Foundation.

That group is giving up to 5 thousand dollars per child under the age of 16.

It's to pay for medicine, wheelchairs, hearing aids, and a variety of items that fall through gaps that existing health insurance won't cover.

Doctor Robert Smith is with the foundation and say just 9 families used the money last year in Missouri- including one from Fairfax.

Eligibility information is available at the United Healthcare Children's Foundation website- that's at u-h-c-c-f dot org.
